We made it to Newport!

It's been awhile since I posted, but I've finally managed to find a time to sit long enough to write something! The month of April was one hectic month for us! We moved out of our place in DC and made the trek up here to Newport. We LOVE our place here! It's amazing and we just keep pinching ourselves each morning we wake making sure we aren't dreaming. People pay millions of dollars for a view that we have so we make sure we are enjoying each and every minute! We always love company, but if anyone was wanting to visit this is definitely a pretty neat place so make sure you get a trip in while we are here.

We're finally able to walk around the house and only have a few random boxes left to unpack. Today we decided to get out and enjoy this beautiful weather with a picnic by the water. We put the girls in the double stroller and walked a short stroll to a pretty open field overlooking the bay and the Newport bridge. It's so nice having the 4 of us together to enjoy some quality family time. We don't often get that and it's been a long time waiting! It's funny how the Navy has a way of sending you to places along the way to make you quickly forget about deployment and sea duty. Ahhh those days aren't far ahead, but we won't think about them now! Just enjoy having Mitch home!

Boo (Kelly's mom) comes out Monday for a visit. We can't wait for her to arrive! I've already been scouting out places in town to take her and I'm sure each morning after coffee and breakfast on our deck we'll have to take a stroll around the water trail. Hopefully she will go home to Texas and tell everyone they better book a trip to see us!

Enjoy some pictures. I took some of these today on our picnic. The rest are some that I took in DC before we left.

We met Mitch's OLA office on the Capitol Mall for a picnic the week we left.
I took this of Riley, just wish the scaffolding in the background wasn't there!

She was playing croquet. It was really funny.

I love this picture of her.

She's getting so big. She definitely thinks she is 5!

Picking flowers on our picnic.

Newport bridge in background.

Isn't it pretty? Want to visit yet?!

Being silly with Daddy.

She loves her Daddy (calls him "Mater" from the movie, Cars. It's really funny! She, of course, wants to be the star, Lightening McQueen.)

Climbing on Mommy. My little rugrat!

She doesn't know what to do with all the wide-open spaces!

Blowing dandelions and being carefree.

Mommy and Riley with the sailboat going by...

That's all folks!
